Your white tooth flashing
Sharp and bright and ravenous
Tearing into flesh

The world is burning
Darkening the day, the haze
Glowing red at night

Dangerous hunger
Predators are joyless
Consuming, the kill

Temporarily
Sated, and wary of sleep
Alive in the wild
